Our Fees and SREC Pricing
There are no transaction fees. There are no hidden fees.
How much can I make from selling SRECs?
You receive the current market rate (see our live pricing here) minus our fee. Most customers are able to generate 10-15 credits per year depending on the size of their system. Your sale price is locked in at purchase, regardless of future market changes. Once we pay you for an SREC, you no longer have rights to that sold credit.
Why does Currents charge a fee?
Currents provides a product and service that aggregates, manages and transacts RECs for our customers, both residential homes and commercial systems. There is a lot of behind-the-scenes work involved in registering systems, handling paperwork, automating solar production reporting, aggregating RECs, communicating with buyers, ensuring compliance across states and handling transactions. The fee keeps our lights on and our employees paid, ensuring we can deliver the best product and service to our customers.
Why is there a $5 minimum per REC sold?
Currents has a minimum fee, like all other SREC aggregators, because we have processing fees to handle the REC registrations, transactions and management on your behalf.
What's included in the fee?
The fee is all-inclusive, meaning that there are no separate management or transaction fees to worry about.
